What is specific about L&L
L&L's defining feature is hard ceramic element holders rather than elements sitting in bare brick grooves. The holders support the coil and protect the brick from glaze drips, which makes element replacement noticeably cleaner than on kilns where elements sit directly in the brick, and tends to extend element life. When ordering, note that the holders themselves occasionally need replacing alongside the elements if they have been damaged by a glaze spill.

Confirm before you order

What are L&L's ceramic element holders?
They are hard ceramic channels that carry the element rather than letting it sit in a bare brick groove. They support the coil, keep glaze drips off the brick and generally extend element life. They also make replacement a cleaner job than on kilns without them.
Do I need to replace the holders too?
Not routinely. Holders outlast elements comfortably under normal use. If a glaze spill has cracked or eaten into a holder, that one should be replaced along with the element, tell us if you can see damage and we will include what you need.
What does the model number tell you?
L&L designations such as e23 encode the kiln's dimensions, which lets us confirm the element set quickly. Send the model and serial from the control box data plate and we can match without guesswork.
