Evenheat replacement elements

Evenheat is unusual among the brands we service in that its range covers ceramics, glass fusing, and knife-making kilns rather than ceramics alone, and this affects firing patterns more than it affects the winding itself.

We hold element counts and supply voltages for 3 Evenheat models. Pick yours and we will confirm the spec back to you before asking for anything.

Evenheat element specifications

Typical ranges across the Evenheat lines we see most. Always confirm against your own rating plate.

Voltage 240V standard, 120V on small single-element models
Element wire Kanthal A1
Configuration 1-4 element sections depending on model and application
Typical life Varies by use, glass and knife kilns often see more frequent, shorter firing cycles than ceramics

Where to find the data tag on a Evenheat

Evenheat mounts its data plate on the control box, typically near the power switch or digital controller, and it lists model and serial together. Because Evenheat builds glass, knife, and ceramic kilns off similar chassis, the plate is the only reliable way to confirm which element spec a given unit actually needs.

Model series we supply

  • High Fire 1210
  • Studio Pro STP1
  • GTS-2541

What is specific about Evenheat

Evenheat is unusual among the brands we service in that its range covers ceramics, glass fusing, and knife-making kilns rather than ceramics alone, and this affects firing patterns more than it affects the winding itself. The Studio Pro STP1 is a small single-element 120V unit, quite different electrically from the four-element 240V High Fire 1210 or GTS-2541, so voltage and section count both need confirming before we wind. Glass and knife kilns often cycle through more frequent heat-up and cool-down cycles than a typical ceramics firing schedule, which can accelerate element fatigue even at lower peak temperatures. We wind every replacement in-house from Kanthal A1 to the original resistance within ±2%, with a 48-hour standard turnaround.

How Evenheat elements typically fail

  • Element fatigue from frequent thermal cycling, common on glass and knife kilns that ramp and cool more often than ceramics kilns
  • Sagging or lifting wire in the groove after extended use at high temperature
  • A single failed section on multi-element models causing uneven heat across the chamber
  • On the single-element STP1, a full open circuit simply means no heat at all, so check the plug and breaker before assuming the element has failed

Confirm before you order

Test the element before replacing it. A meaningful share of "dead element" calls turn out to be a thermostat, sequencer or limit switch, and the test takes ten minutes with a multimeter. Our resistance test tool tells you what your reading means.

What to send us for a Evenheat quote

  • Model and serial from the rating plate
  • Voltage and wattage, if legible
  • A photo of the old element, especially the terminal end
  • What the equipment is doing — or failing to do

If the plate has faded past reading, our model number guide covers the other places manufacturers record it.

Evenheat element questions

Is the element for a glass kiln different from a ceramics kiln element?

The wire and winding principle are the same, Kanthal A1 wound to a target resistance, but glass and knife kilns are often run through more frequent cycles at lower peak temperatures than ceramics firings, which changes wear patterns over time. Tell us what the kiln is used for and we will account for it when confirming the winding.

My Studio Pro STP1 has no power at all. Is that always the element?

Not necessarily. The STP1 is a small single-element 120V unit, and a total loss of power is just as likely to be the plug, cord, or switch as the element itself. Check those first with a multimeter, then test the element for continuity before ordering a replacement.

How many elements does my Evenheat kiln use?

It depends on the model. The STP1 uses a single element, the High Fire 1210 and GTS-2541 use four sections. The data plate on the control box will confirm the model, and from there we can confirm section count and wire gauge for your winding.

Send the model and serial, or a photo of the rating plate. We confirm the exact fit in writing before anything ships.

Send us a photo

Any one of these gets us started. All three and we can usually quote same day.

A clear shot of the rating plate is usually all we need — you do not have to know the part number.

Only if you have it in front of you. Most people don't, and the photo covers it.

ohms

Optional, but it is the one number we cannot work out any other way — it verifies everything else. Not sure how?

Sets the replacement cycle — elements are measured in firings, not months.

We reply within one business day. No obligation, no account needed.
