Direct from the manufacturer.
Precision winding.

We wind custom heating elements from Kanthal A1 wire to ±2% of target. No middleman — and no part number needed to get started.

Kiln firing slow, or stalling short of temperature? Send a photo of the data plate and we will tell you exactly what you need.

Manufacturing excellence

Why buying direct matters.

Most suppliers in this trade are resellers. They order a batch, put it on a shelf and hope the tolerance is what the label claims. When it is not, there is nothing they can do about it.

We are the ones at the winder. That means resistance tolerance, wire gauge, material purity and lead time are all ours to control — and when your kiln needs a set that fires evenly top to bottom, that control is the entire difference.

Start your order

Tell us what you have. We will work out what you need.

Pick your equipment, find your model, send a photo — four steps and nothing you have to look up first. If you can give us the resistance, length and wire thickness, we can wind it, whatever the equipment.

No account, no obligation. We reply within one business day.

About us

A heating element is the heartbeat of your equipment.

Most of the people who contact us are potters and ceramics studios with a kiln that has stopped reaching temperature — and a deadline.

We are a small team working with resistance wire, combining the precision of modern manufacturing with the service of a business where you speak to the person who made your part. We are in Markham, Ontario, and we ship Canada-wide.

Questions people ask before ordering

Are you a manufacturer or a reseller?

A manufacturer. We wind every element ourselves on our own machines, using Kanthal A1 resistance wire sourced from European suppliers. That is the whole reason we exist — most places selling replacement elements are buying them from someone else and marking them up, which means they cannot control resistance tolerance, material purity or lead time. We can, because we are the ones at the winder.

I do not know my model number. Can you still help?

Yes, and this is the single most common way an order starts. Photograph the data plate — usually inside the lid or on the control box — and send it. If the plate has faded, a photo of the inside of the kiln and the old element against a tape measure is enough for us to work from. You do not need to identify the part yourself; that is our job.

What does ±2% tolerance actually mean for my kiln?

Resistance determines heat output. In a multi-element kiln, elements that do not match each other produce uneven heat — hot at one ring, cool at another, which shows up as work that is over-fired at the top and under-fired at the bottom. Holding every coil to within 2% of target is what keeps output even across a set. We measure each one against its target before it ships rather than trusting the winder blindly.

Should I replace one element or the whole set?

The whole set, in almost every case. The remaining elements have the same firing hours and the same oxidation on them, so a second failure soon after is common. More importantly, a new low-resistance element sitting beside aged high-resistance ones puts out more heat than they do and fires the chamber unevenly. Single elements start at $90 and full sets from $250.

How fast can you turn an order around?

Elements are wound and shipped within 48 hours of confirming your spec. The honest part of that sentence is "confirming your spec" — the winding is quick, and what actually determines how fast you get your elements is how quickly we can pin down what your kiln needs. Send a photo of the data plate with your first message and that step usually takes one reply.

Can you make an element that is no longer manufactured?

Usually, yes. Send us the dimensions, voltage and terminal style — ideally with the old element in hand or photographed against a tape measure — and we can wind a match. Obsolete parts are routine work for us, and it is very often faster and cheaper than replacing whole equipment.

Send us your model number or a photo

Most people who contact us do not know their part number, and that is fine. A photo of the rating plate or the old element is enough for us to identify the exact replacement.

Send us a photo

Any one of these gets us started. All three and we can usually quote same day.

A clear shot of the rating plate is usually all we need — you do not have to know the part number.

Only if you have it in front of you. Most people don't, and the photo covers it.

ohms

Optional, but it is the one number we cannot work out any other way — it verifies everything else. Not sure how?

Sets the replacement cycle — elements are measured in firings, not months.

We reply within one business day. No obligation, no account needed.
