Radiant & Snow Melt Cable · From $150
Radiant floor and driveway snow-melt cable
Insulated heating cable for warm floors indoors and snow-free driveways outdoors. We build to your run length rather than selling fixed kits, which matters when a driveway or a bathroom floor never quite matches a standard box size.
Diagnose first
What the symptoms are telling you
Work out what has actually failed before you order. We would rather talk you out of a part you do not need than sell you the wrong one.
Planning a new floor or driveway
Cable has to be sized to the actual heated area and the supply voltage available, not bought as a guess.
Do this: Send us the area dimensions and available circuit and we will spec the run.
Cold patches in an existing heated floor
A break in the cable run, or a section that was laid at the wrong spacing when installed.
Do this: Measure resistance across the run before assuming the whole system needs replacing.
Driveway system will not clear snow fast enough
Under-specified output for the area, or cable spaced too widely at installation.
Do this: Tell us the area and typical snowfall load and we will check the specification.
System trips its breaker or GFCI
Damaged insulation letting current leak to ground, often from a screw or a stake driven through the cable.
Do this: Do not keep resetting. Test insulation resistance to locate the fault.
Work it out yourself first

Radiant questions
Will a heated driveway actually work in a Toronto winter?
Yes, provided it is specified for the load. The design question is output per square metre against how much snow falls and how fast you need it clear. Under-specifying is the usual reason a system disappoints, so tell us the area and how you intend to use it before you buy anything.
Can I install radiant cable myself?
Laying cable in mortar is within reach of a competent DIYer, but the electrical connection is not homeowner work in Ontario. These circuits need a proper dedicated supply and GFCI protection, and that side of it should be done by a licensed electrician.
Why build to length instead of selling standard kits?
Because rooms and driveways are not standard sizes. A kit that is too short leaves a cold strip, and one that is too long cannot simply be cut down — cutting changes the resistance and therefore the output. Building to your measured run avoids both problems.
What do you need to quote a radiant job?
The heated area in square feet or metres, whether it is indoor floor or outdoor snow melt, the supply voltage available, and the finish going over it. For driveways, tell us the surface — concrete, asphalt or paver — since that changes how the cable is laid.
