Ducane has historically been positioned as a more affordable line within the Lennox family, though the heat kit elements themselves follow the same industry-standard nickel-chrome open coil design used across virtually every brand. Distribution runs through HVAC dealers rather than retail. As with other multi-stage kits, a sequencer relay brings each element on a few seconds apart, and that relay is the first suspect when no stage responds to a call for heat.

Some of my Ducane air handler's heat stages work and others don't. What does that tell me?
When some stages heat and others stay cold, the dead stages are almost certainly burned-open elements rather than a shared control fault, since a sequencer or board failure typically knocks out every stage at once. Test each dead stage's element for continuity to confirm before ordering parts.
How often should a Ducane heat kit element need replacing?
Under normal conditions with clean airflow, elements can last well beyond a decade since the winding itself doesn't wear from ordinary cycling. Repeat failures inside a shorter window almost always point to airflow restriction, so check filter condition and duct sizing before assuming the replacement element was faulty.
