Always confirm by matching the kW rating, amperage and physical dimensions on the tray label rather than assuming by brand name alone, since running changes do occur.
Why did only two of my four heat kit stages come on?
That is the classic signature of burned-open elements on the two stages that stayed cold, rather than a sequencer or board problem, because a control fault typically takes out every stage at once. Pull the tray and visually inspect the two dead elements for a visible break or discolouration in the coil.
How long should an Amana heat kit element actually last?
A correctly sized element on a system with clean airflow can run well past ten years, since the nickel-chrome winding itself doesn't wear out from normal cycling. What shortens that life is restricted airflow forcing the element to run hotter than its design point, so a fresh filter and an unobstructed return are the real determinants of element longevity.
